Week 4 Post

As a computer would be a key component in creating the "buckle button" itself, as well as in documenting data about my customers, it is important to know how each part of the system unit will play a role. The motherboard is an element needed for any computer to function, as it serves as the main circuit board and contains slots for adapter cards, the processor chip, and memory. The CPU is also needed because it manages the main operations of the computer.

The computer would represent important data using bytes, which are combinations of 0s and 1s to represent other characters. Bytes can represent numbers, uppercase and lowercase letters, punctuation marks, and more. This coding is created by typing on a keyboard, which then uses a chip to concert the signal into a special code that is sent to the system unit where the data can be stored.

Memory is very important for storing the data that I would need to keep about my customers. It could store the program of my choosing to do word processing, as well as the data created by the word processing program. This is called the stored program concept, which would be extremely helpful in keeping track of customer information such as addresses, phone numbers, past purchases, etc.
